Breakfast & Lunch

Pittsfield has a range of options when it comes to breakfast and lunch. We have a classic European-style bakery, hipster cafes with specialty coffee drinks, vegan/ gluten-free options, old-school diners with 1950s decor and crisp bacon, dishes infused with a Latin flair, even smoothies/juices, and fruit bowls shops. So you can relax and enjoy your gluten-free avocado toast and cappuccino.  Photo credit: Otto’s Comfort Kitchen

Berkshire Mountain Bakery

A must stop for any visit to Pittsfield! Owner, visionary and master baker, Richard Bourdon, has been featured in Michael Pollan’s Netflix show “Cooked” and Berkshire Mountain Bakery has earned national acclaim  as one of the top 10 best bread bakeries in Bon Appetit magazine (2010). Traditional techniques rule the baking process so most bread is naturally leavened with sourdough fermentation and hand-shaped. This Pittsfield location features a large selection of artisanal breads (get there early), amazing croissants, baked goods as well as made-to-order pizzas, breakfast, and lunch specials all day. Frozen pizza shells are hugely popular to easily make your own pies at home. Currently takeout only. Some outdoor seating in season.

Open for breakfast and lunch, they serve up sandwiches, salads, and soups with catchy names evoking Berkshires landmarks like Shay’s Rebellion, Bartholomew’s Gobble, and the Stockbridge Bowl.
